Filming: Day 1
Upon arriving at Brooke House, we discussed which shots we were going to do. Due to half our shots needing the dress more dirty and ruined, we decided on doing the innocent and scared version of our character.
We left our exterior shots until last as we were after a darker lighting for the outside of the house. So we began with the inside shots in chronological order.
After our initial few shots of the opening, we decided that the lighting we had used was too light. This was realised after one of our shots had the hallway we'd be using in the background and it was too light. After turning off the light we realised our other shots would be completely different so we retook the few shots we already had that had the bright lighting in.
Once we had reshot everything we needed, we moved on to do all the innocent bathtub shots. All those shots were relatively easy, only trouble was our actress learning the words to the song parts she had to lip sync.
Next was the most difficult part of the filming; shadows moving down the hallway. At first we tried a human shadow moving along but after that didn't show up on our camera, we were going to use a different shot altogether. However by pure coincidence we accidentally set off a LED motion activated hall light which provided the right light for the shadows to show up on the film. We used my hand to create the shadows because our actress' didn't look very good.
After that we moved downstairs to film a extra shot using the cellar stairs, which was exceptionally creepy and really fits with our video theme. We also noticed a small in the wall which we decided to try and film with it, however we tried multiple different angles but are still not sure if it's come out right.
Finally we filmed our exterior shots including one looking inside the house with our actress in the window. Once they had been filmed we wrapped for the day as the lighting within the house was too dark to pick up the face of our actress for our remaining innocent shots.
