Halsey Website

As part of our website research, we decided to look at Halsey's website and analyse it's features.

Halsey made her website using Tumblr, which appeals to a large part of her target audience. She has seven pages on her website including the homepage. That includes:

- Home

- Bio

- Music

- Tour

- Videos

- Store

- Mailing list

Her home page consists of a large image of her and her name. Fitting in her image of being different, it follows the same colour scheme as her Badlands album cover and makes sure the blue hair stands out; which is her trademark as an artist.

Then you scroll down and it shows a small gallery of behind the scenes photos of her current tour. It also has her social links to:

Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Google, Instagram and YouTube. As well as her links to where you can buy her music; her store, Apple, Google Play, Spotify and Soundcloud.

Her individual pages are very similar to the setup of the home page however, the main picture of Halsey is smaller and the page bigger. Her bio is small and simple yet gets across who she is as a person easily. It gives those new to her fan base a quick idea of what she's like as a person. Also keeps the social bar and page buttons at the top of each individual page for easy access to all the website.

Her music page and store page lead to the same thing; her store website. It takes you off iamhalsey.com and takes you to her side of the Universal Music website. It's got her album design as the header and all her available CD's, t-shirts, vinyl's and bundles. It's the only part of the website I don't like; I don't like how it has two buttons that lead to the same page.

The tour page also takes you to a different site; Halsey's official tour site. It's bright colour is a complete contrast to the paler tones of the her website. The bold yellow links to her album Hopeless Fountain Kingdom.

Her tours dates are set out well, easy to understand format; date, location, city and where to book tickets. It also has a tab for looking at the past tour dates for her going back to January 2015.

Her video page only has a link to her music video for Now or Never. However, this would take you to her YouTube which most probably would lead to looking at her other videos. However, I think it could have more than one video on there.

Her final page is her mailing list. Which is her latest album cover and a link to follow her on spotify. It also has the opportunity to subscribe to her Record Label (Astralwerks) and her producing company (Universal Music Group).
