Fifth Harmony Website

Fifth Harmony was another website we wanted to analyse because we liked some of the features.

Fifth Harmony is the second band website I've analysed and it's really different to Little Mix's site. It's not got nearly as many pages, in fact it doesn't have as many pages as most of the website's I've looked at. Despite my love for the band, the website is not nearly what I expected from one of the biggest girl groups of this generation.

Their pages are:

- Home

- Music

- News

- Events

- Videos

- Shop

The home page is very simple, the light colours of the site match the album cover of their latest album. The page is purely an advert to buy the album and get tickets for their PSA tour. The link connected to the album will only take you to iTunes, so it already doesn't seem to advertise many places to buy their music. There's also a subscription box at the bottom of the page. They do have their name at the top of the page, splitting the menu into two, one on each side of their logo/name. And at the bottom of each page is a link to the band's social media: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Snapchat.

The next page is their music page. Here they have links to buy all three of their albums, as well as a link to the album on Spotify; in fact it has a player that plays clips of each song on their album. As well as links to iTunes, Spotify and Amazon next to each album.

Their news page is again very much like all the other websites, advertising their new releases, appearances on TV shows, any awards they won and any additions to their PSA tour. It also features the date so you can see when the last time they updated was. As well as a link to sign up to their newsletter.

Their events page is just their tour page. They have the date, the location, the city, when tickets are available to buy and a button to lead you to the ticket purchasing page.

The videos page, once again very similar to other artist pages. Featuring their latest music video and some of their older videos. Again, leading you to their YouTube page is a button at the bottom labelled 'more' which will take you directly to their Vevo channel.

The shop page opens in a new tab and takes you to their official store. Here you can buy all their music and any featured products; such as vinyls, t-shirts etc. But only for their most recent album.

The feature we wanted to use on our own website was the faded pictures of the artists on the background of each new page. It's the same picture of either Lauren, Ally, Dinah or Normani that is on the album cover of 'Fifth Harmony', but it's faded into the background. We just thought it would be a good idea to have a similar feature on our own website.
