Little Mix Website

Little Mix is another band that I personally really like so I thought I'd analyse their website.

It's the first band website I've looked at and it's only a little different to solo artists. They do have a lot more pages;

- Home

- Music -> Discography, Music store

- The Girls -> Leigh Anne, Perrie, Jesy, Jade

- Tour

- Videos

- News

- Shop -> Music store, Fragrance, Merch

The home page is simple; the menu spread out across the middle of the page, the sub pages coming down when your mouse hovers over it. There is also a drop down menu at the top of the page, bringing down a white page with the same menu along with links to their social media; Facebook, Twitter, Pintrest, YouTube, Instagram, Spotify and Apple Music. As well as a link to sign up to their newsletter. The clever thing with their home page is that every time you roll over a page name, the background changes. So for each part of the menu there's a different photo of the girls as the background.

The first section is the music pages. This consists of two pages; the discography and the music store. The discography is an entire page of all their album and single covers since they began in 2011. It's different to the other websites as it's the first to have a page like this, also throughout the website all of the images/gifs move with your mouse. The angles change depending where the mouse is on the page. The music store page leads to their store to buy their music and any albums in CD and LP form.

The next pages are the bio's of each band member - Perrie, Jade, Jesy and Leigh-Anne. Their biographies are different to other artists, instead of the more formal biography about their albums and music and how they got into music, they're biographies are very informal. Asking questions about where they grew up, their style inspirations, nicknames, favourite food/songs/artists/colour/films/moments in the band. It's better suited for the target audience; younger girls. It makes them relatable and good role models.

Their Tour page is next. This one is very similar to other artists and the layout almost identical. Each tour date set out in Date, Location, City, Tickets.

They also have a videos page; it's a page consisting of their music videos, their most recent at the top of the page. As you scroll down you can access all their videos, including some behind the scenes videos they posted on their YouTube channel. Clicking on the arrow on the video will take you to YouTube, which obviously has access to their channel.

Their news page is of course similar to other artists; showing the latest news about their music and performances/shows. The majority is them releasing a new music video or platinum edition of their latest album.

Finally they have their links to their three different stores. The music store is the same as the one linked under music, so advertises just the CD's, which I personally don't like how they have two links to the same page. The fragrance store is a link to buy their new fragrances. And the merch store is for tour merchandise that you can buy if you didn't get to any of their shows.
